Niagara police have arrested two teens for violent incidents in St. Catharines.

In July, police began an investigation into the armed robbery of a car. The investigation determined that the victim had been sitting in their parked Nissan Rogue in a parking lot in the area of Welland Avenue and Bunting Road when a male suspect approached the vehicle, pointed a firearm and demanded the car.

The suspect fled the area in the car and picked up a second suspect a short distance away. Police say the car was recovered abandoned not long after. The victim was not physically injured in the incident.

Then, on Aug 17, police began investigating a stabbing incident that occurred at Pearson Park on Niagara Street. A man was stabbed and suffered serious injuries. The suspects and man were known to each other and he has since been released from hospital.

Police say investigations lead them to believe that the same two male suspects were responsible for both incidents.

On August 19, police located and arrested the two teens involved.

A 17-year-old from St. Catharines and a 16-year-old from St. Catharines were both arrested and charged with multiple offences.
