Two suspects wanted in Stoney Creek gas station robbery

Hamilton police are investigating after two masked suspects robbed a gas station in lower Stoney Creek.

It happened around 1 a.m. Wednesday at the Pioneer on Highway 8.

A 19-year-old man, who was working at the time of the robbery, said he was too shaken to speak on camera but told CHCH News that one of the suspects had just finished pumping gas when he came inside with a mask on his face.

As the suspect demanded the employee open the till, another masked came inside the store and appeared to be armed with a weapon.

The employee says he stepped aside and let the suspects take the cash from the register. The thieves then left in a black 4-door sedan.

Police say the employee was not physically injured during the robbery. Investigators are currently reviewing security footage of the incident.
