Victims held at gunpoint during robbery attempt in Hamilton

Hamilton police are investigating after two people were held at gunpoint during an attempted robbery on Tuesday.
Shortly before 1 p.m., Hamilton police were called to the area of Barton St. and Sanford Ave. for reports of a robbery.
Police say two people were walking along Barton St. when a man approached them from behind. The suspect demanded money from the pair and pointed what is believed to be a handgun at the victims.
The suspect fled the area after the duo managed to get away unharmed.
The suspect is described as a white male, 20 to 30 years old, and was wearing a black coat, black pants and a bandana on his head.
