Two motorcycle crashes, one fatal

A 47-year-old motorcyclist from Oakville is dead following a crash in Mississauga last night.

Around 7 pm, his motorcycle slammed into the back of a boat trailer that had stopped in the middle lane of the eastbound QEW just before Erin Mills parkway. Police are looking for witnesses.

The man’s name has not been released as next of kin are being notified.

Meanwhile a man remains in hospital with serious injuries after his motorcycle collided with a car near Mount Hope.

That crash happened on Highway 6 just south of Upper James at around 5 pm yesterday.

Police say the man was thrown from his motorcycle to the ground after coming into contact with another southbound vehicle.  He was taken to Hamilton General Hospital. The man driving the vehicle was not injured.

Police are still investigating but do not believe speed or alcohol were involved.
