Ford Motor Company has issued two safety recalls involving 2.6 million vehicles including thousands in Canada.  The biggest recall involves Takata driver-side front airbags.  These airbags have been the subject of many recalls involving 13 auto manufacturers.  They contain calcium sulphate absorbing propellant that may degrade after long exposure to high heat and humidity and could rupture during deployment.  Six deaths and many injuries have been attributed to their installation. The latest recall, which includes 275-thousand vehicles in Canada includes some Ford Fusion, Edge and Ranger models dating back to 2006-12 and some older Mercury and Lincoln models. The second recall involves 19 tire lines from Continental Tire of America that may have been cured beyond specification.  It involves 3100 late model Ford pickups in Canada and 2019 Ford Escapes.
