Two men sent to hospital after stabbing

In Central Hamilton there was a heavy police presence after two people were stabbed.

It happened on Cannon Street East around 2 PM. The Central Division Staff Sergeant says two men were found suffering from stab wounds, that were classified as cuts and were non-life threatening. They were taken to hospital to be treated. A third man believed to be the attacker was found nearby and was taken into custody.

Police say the three men are all known to each other. It is unclear what the motive was behind the stabbing. Police continue to investigate.
