Two men arrested in Grimsby following armed incident at a Welland home

Niagara police say two people have been arrested in Grimsby in connection with an armed incident at a home in Welland.

Police were called to a home in the area of Wellington St. and Tanguay Ave. around 6:20 p.m. on Wednesday.

Officials say this was a domestic violence threat investigation involving a handgun. No one was physically injured.

Police say two men fled the scene before officers arrived.

The suspect vehicle was located in a parking lot in the area of Main St. W and Livingston Ave. in Grimsby around 8 p.m.

Police say the two men were found in a nearby store and were arrested without incident. The handgun has not been located.

A 27-year-old man from Scarborough and a 25-year-old man from Welland are facing charges.

Police say they are not identifying the men charged as it would identify the victim.
