Two people are dead, one person remains in hospital following a collision on Dixie Rd. near Aerowood Dr. in Mississauga.
Peel Regional Police say around 7:30pm last night a car with three people inside, crashed into the back of a tractor trailer and slid beneath it.
A 20-year-old female passenger was pronounced dead on scene. The driver, a 22-year-old Brampton man, was without vital signs at the scene. He was rushed to hospital where he later died.
A 21-year-old Toronto man who was in the front passenger seat at the time of the crash was rushed to hospital with serious injuries, where he remains this morning.
Peel Police say it’s not clear at this point what led to the crash, but there are unconfirmed reports that speed may have been a factor. This is the second fatal crash in Peel Region this week; on Monday, four people were killed in a collision in Brampton.
The intersection of Dixie Rd and Aerowood Dr. has fully reopened.
The investigation continues.
