After beginning seven years ago, Tweetstock has become a forum for using online communication as part of daily life and business.
Tweetstock summer school at the Hamilton Public Library attracted a gathering of individuals and business people learning how to cut through the noise and communicate more effectively with social media and emerging technologies.
City marketing co-ordinator Michael Marini told CHCH News the event means two things for Hamilton: “One, we have a very engaged, strong social media community. The second thing is we have a very strong entrepreneural community. So this conference bridges those 2 groups together.”
“The industry we are seeing that is one of the largest growth areas for us, especially in the downtown, is the creative industries. A lot of the creative industries are using social media to drive marketing interests for their business.”
“A conference like this fits extremely well with Hamilton and we have some superstars here from across North America. As well we have Hamilton speakers who are renowned across the country who are going to be speaking about social media as well.”
Speakers talked about branding, web marketing, starting an online business, influence marketing, network security, optimizing digital presence, and video production.
