TSB investigators at train-bus crash site

Transportation Safety Board investigators have returned to the site of that deadly crash between a VIA Rail train and an Ottawa city bus.
The TSB says the investigators are there to collect new data as
they try to figure out what caused the collision earlier this month.
Investigators are examining potential factors that could have
affected the bus driver’s perception and decision-making in the
moments before the crash.
Six people died and more than 30 were injured when the bus slammed into the train after going through a safety barricade on September 18.
Halton, Oakville and Toronto police will conduct a campaign next week to try to educate drivers about railway crossings. Officers will be stopping traffic at level rail crossings to talk
to drivers and pedestrians and hand out material about railway safety.
