Donald Trump called Prime Minister Justin Trudeau “two-faced” after a video went viral that appeared to show a group of world leaders talking about the U.S. president.

The video was shot during a reception at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday night. It shows Britain’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson asking France’s President Emmanuel Macron why he was late, to which Trudeau replies, “He was late because he takes a 40-minute press conference off the top.”

Later in the footage, Trudeau can be heard saying, “I watched his team’s jaws drop to the floor”, though the context of the comment is not known.

The leaders do not use Trump’s name, but the president took several questions from journalists during an impromptu news conference prior to his individual meetings with Macron, Trudeau, and NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg.

During a meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Trump was asked about Trudeau’s comments, to which the U.S. president responded, “He’s two-faced.”

Trump quickly adds, “But honestly, with Trudeau, he’s a nice guy. I’ve found him to be a very nice guy.” He then goes on to suggest Trudeau was upset that Trump called out Canada for not spending two per cent of its gross domestic product on its military, as all NATO allies have agreed to do.
