Trump announces temporary border closure

US President Donald Trump announced the temporary closure of the US-Canada border to non-essential traffic.
We will be, by mutual consent, temporarily closing our Northern Border with Canada to non-essential traffic. Trade will not be affected. Details to follow!

Trade and commerce will still continue, but tourists will be banned from crossing the border.
The closure comes as part of the effort to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Prime Minister Trudeau is expected to speak about the border closure today.
