Trump and Biden to face off in first of three presidential debates

U.S. President Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden will outline their different visions for the county in the first of three presidential debates tonight in Cleveland.

The pair will not shake hands to start – one of a series of COVID-19 precautions in place.

The size of the audience will be limited to about 60 to 70 people and audience members will all undergo COVID-19 testing.

Trump and Biden will also forgo opening statements.

Tuesday night’s event could be a pivotal campaign moment, with just five weeks until election day.

The U.S. is mired in national protests against racial injustice and a COVID-19 pandemic that has left more than 200,000 people dead and cost millions of jobs.
