A truck crashed into a veterinary hospital in Caledonia this morning. It happened after two trucks crashed at an intersection close to the facility, luckily no one was seriously hurt but residents were blown away by the damage.

Around 5:30 this morning there was a crash on Argyle street that sent a truck through a cement block wall of the Grand River Veterinarian hospital. The truck plowed through half of the building into what used to be their reception room. Luckily no one was hurt, including any animals.

The truck that’s inside the vet hospital was not at fault, the OPP say the discount truck was travelling south on Argyle when it was cut off by another truck, a tractor trailer that was trying to turn north. 56 year old Murray Anthony of Haldimand county has been charged with fail to yield to traffic on provincial highways.

Police say Anthony ran the discount truck off the road. The driver lost control and went up on the grass spraying dirt onto nearby cars before swerving into the building. 38 year old Melinda Kee of Hamilton was taken to hospital but is expected to be okay. The truck was contracted by Canada Post and was filled with mail at the time.

They are estimating damage at $100 000. while it looks disastrous, they believe the clinic will be open again in the next 5 days. In the meantime doctor Robinson says the vets will keep doing house calls.
