Trio attempts to abduct man at gunpoint at Burlington condo building

Halton police have arrested five people in connection with an attempted abduction in Burlington.

Officers were called to a condo building in the area of Fairview St. and Brant St. around 8:15 p.m. on March 18.

Police say three suspects attempted to abduct a man at gunpoint outside his apartment unit.

The trio demanded cash and forced the victim into the lobby area of the building.

The man was assaulted but managed to get away to a security area and police were contacted.

The suspects fled the area in a vehicle.

Police later arrested three Hamilton residents, a Burlington resident and a 17-year-old youth in connection with the incident.

Two firearms and ammunition were also seized in the investigation.
