Travel expected to be hazardous due to widespread fog

Motorists across Southern Ontario are being warned to be cautious as they head out Wednesday morning with widespread fog covering the region.
Environment Canada says an advisory is in effect for the majority of the southern part of the province including Hamilton, Halton and Niagara.
The weather agency says areas of dense fog with near-zero visibility are likely.
“With temperatures near or just below the freezing mark, the fog may deposit ice on untreated surfaces. Some roads and sidewalks may become slippery as a result,” states a public alert of Environment Canada’s website.
Conditions are expected to improve through the morning but travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility.
Drivers are reminded ff visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.
