Transcom closure another blow to local economy

As we first reported Monday night, the closure of the the Transcom call centre in downtown St. Catharines means 260 people will be out of work in the Niagara region come the new year. It’s another hit to the local economy. And as Lauran Sabourin tells us, the disturbing side to this story is that call centres have always been seen as a safe fallback if you needed a job.
