Many Tragically Hip fans were left disappointed this morning when they didn’t get tickets for some of the band’s upcoming summer concerts. The tickets sold out almost immediately.

Tickets went on sale to the public at 10am, and it appeared that all available tickets for three arena shows at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre, as well as the one show at FirstOntario Centre in Hamilton were sold out.

About 75 people lined up for tickets outside of FirstOntario Centre box office in downtown Hamilton. Four people successfully bought 16 tickets from the box office before tickets sold out.

Disappointed fans took to social media to express their suspicion that many of the tickets were bought by resellers hoping to make a lot of money based on the popularity of these shows.

This is expected to be the final tour for The Tragically Hip given lead singer Gord Downie’s battle with incurable brain cancer.

Less than half an hour after the public sale began for the Toronto shows, more than 2,500 tickets were listed for marked up prices on StubHub.
