The Tragically Hip takes the stage at 8:30pm at Hamilton’s FirstOntario Centre.  It will be their third last show of their “Man Machine Poem” tour.  For tonight’s show in Hamilton, there are still several tickets available on the website “Stubhub”. A portion of the money from Stubhub ticket sales will go toward the “Gord Downie Fund for Brain Cancer Research.” There are also several pre-parties taking place before the show that are aiming to raise money for the fund as well.

Back in May it was announced that Hip frontman Gord Downie had been diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour.  Shortly after that, the band announced they would be going on a final farewell tour together.  Downie’s doctors told media Downie has one of the most agressive forms of brain cancer.

After Hamilton, the Hip plays at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa on Thursday night, and then at the Rogers K-Rock Centre in their hometown of Kingston for their final show.

On Saturday, there will be several live-streaming parties of the show across the country including at Hamilton’s Gage Park, Churchill Park and Spencer Smith Park in Burlington.
