Tractor trailer rollover causes closures in Fort Erie

The northbound ramp to Gilmore Road from the Toronto bound QEW in Fort Erie will be closed for at least a couple of days after a tanker carrying diesel fuel ruptured.

The tractor trailer was turning right from Petit Road onto Gilmore Road when it rolled over just before seven o’clock this morning.

No one was seriously hurt.

Niagara police don’t know the full extent of the damage, but say that the road will be closed until it is deemed safe, and clean-up is complete.

Charges on the driver are pending as police continue their investigation.
