Toycon marks decade

Canadian Toycon marked its 10th anniversary at the RBG with its first toy convention of the year.

The event started in Burlington and takes place five times a year. Families and die-hard collectors come to see what vendors have in store.

Toycon’s founder Steve Buckley says the event may be more humble than the larger conventions, but it offers the same goods.

“Same feel, same vibe, you get the costumed characters, you got people selling their artwork, you get people selling vintage toys, collectibles.”

The next Toycon takes place on March 17th and pays homage to the sci-fi genre, featuring celebrities, authors and other guests.
