Tougher restrictions in place in York Region starting today

Tougher COVID-19 restrictions come into effect in York Region.
Starting today, the region joins Toronto, Ottawa and Peel in a modified Stage 2 of Ontario’s pandemic plan.
Officials are now prohibiting indoor restaurant dining, closing gyms and movie theatres and capping public gatherings at 10 people indoors or 25 outdoors.
These measures will be in effect for 28 days.
Similar restrictions are being enforced in Winnipeg for the next two weeks.
Gatherings are limited to five people, while bingo halls and casinos in the region are closed, while restaurants, retail stores, museums and libraries must operate at half capacity.
