Tory critic says Toronto roads not ready for Pan Am crowds

Tory MPP and Pan Am critic Rod Jackson says the games budget doesn’t truly reflect the cost of transportation and security. He says Toronto is not prepared for the more than 250,000 tourists expected to visit during the 2015 games.
“I think it’s embarrassing as it is now for the average citizen or average tourist to drive around in our city and find the same experience I had coming in this morning. A one hour drive turns into a two, three hour drive.”
“I think its going to be very embarrassing and not put our city in the best light, especially given the opportunity they’ve had to actually get a plan together.”
Jackson says he wouldn’t be surprised if the games end up costing triple the $1.4 billion budget that was originally reported.
