Toronto shooting to involve SIU

The province’s Special Investigations Unit has been called in after a man was shot in the upper body in northwest Toronto. The SIU is called in when there’s been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault involving police. The shooting took place at a highrise apartment on Kipling Avenue near Finch. Toronto police say police were called to the building for a “get belongings call” when there was some kind of altercation. Paramedics say the man was rushed to hospital in serious condition but is expected to survive.
