Toronto Pearson Airport gears up for busy weekend ahead of March break

As March break approaches, Toronto Pearson International Airport is gearing up for a busy weekend of travellers. The airport says it is expecting to see around 125,000 passengers every day this weekend. Which is a 30 per cent increase from the same time last year.
The winter weather on Friday is also providing some added challenges and could leave some flights delayed or cancelled.

Pearson has been in the news recently for delays, customer service, and baggage issues but the airport has made some changes this year to hopefully remedy this. Last month the Greater Toronto Airport Authority which runs Pearson announced a hard limit on the number of commercial flights arriving and departing from Pearson during March break and the upcoming summer season.
The airport is also capping the number of passengers that can arrive internationally or depart to the United States through each terminal at peak periods. The airport brought in an outside firm to do a baggage system health check to reduce wait times and delays.
