Toronto Police say they won’t be able to comment until later this weekend, on a murder probe underway in Wainfleet.

Officers are searching for a Toronto man. That search lead them to O’Reilly’s road south. Police arrived on Tuesday, blocked off the street and were seen arresting a man. Since then their forensic team has been at the house, not only taking pictures and collecting evidence inside, but also sending a dive team into the pond in the backyard and a k-9 unit in the surrounding area.

Neighbours say two men in their late 20s moved into the house six weeks ago. They describe them as sketchy and antisocial. One asked a neighbour for a wheelbarrow to mix eight bags of cement; the neighbour thought that was odd.

Another neighbour says police have been concerned about a missing backhoe from the property; that neighbour believes the police are looking for a body here.

It’s still not known who the missing Toronto man is, or who police arrested on the street. Those questions are expected to be answered this weekend.
