Toronto man faces 29 charges, was allegedly motivated by hatred towards Jewish community

Toronto police say a 32-year-old man has been arrested and charged with wilful promotion of hatred and advocating genocide – charges that are rarely laid in Canada.
He is alleged to have been motivated by hatred towards the Jewish community.
Police say he faces 29 charges in total, including arson, mischief to cultural property and several gun-related charges.
A court-imposed publication ban prevents investigators from sharing any details of the alleged crimes, which took place between April 26 and Jan. 3.
Police have confirmed the man was released on several conditions after a bail hearing.
