Mayor Rob Ford says Toronto’s executive committee are prepared to sit “right through the night” Thursday to hear from residents about proposed budget cuts.

About 300 people have registered to make submissions to the committee; and each will get five minutes to speak.

One Councillor says that works out to 25 hours before questions and comments from Councillors.

Toronto has a budget shortfall of up to $774 million.

Libraries, policing, snow removal and arts and cultural funding could be cut.

The meeting may have to be extended into Friday and possibly into next week.
