Top doctor for Grand Erie Public Health dies

The top doctor for Grand Erie Public Health has died.
The health unit announced Wednesday the passing of Acting Medical Officer of Health Dr. Malcolm Lock.
He served in that role for over two decades.
Lock studied in Ireland and then relocated to Brantford, where he launched his career in private practice.
“As a general practitioner in Brantford for over three decades, he provided care to countless patients, and his leadership in public health significantly improved the well-being of our community,” reads a statement from the health unit.
He also worked as the medical officer of health for the Brant County Health Unit and Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit.
