Tom Cochrane honours Humboldt Broncos

Tom Cochrane paid tribute to victims of the Humboldt bus crash.
The Juno-Award winning singer and songwriter played an acoustic version of his song “Big League” in a special performance Tuesday night.
The song was broadcast at the beginning of the NHL on TSN’s playoff preview special.
During the performance, pictures of the victims on the hockey team were shown in a montage.
Many Canadians have associated the song with the Humboldt crash that killed 15 people in Saskatchewan last Friday.
The song is written from the perspective of a father whose son was a hockey player with big dreams and was killed by a truck driving in the wrong lane.
Cochrane reworked the lyrics to say they were “riding to immortality” and emphasized the unpredictability of life.
