Toddler found safe after car stolen with child inside

A toddler has been found safe after a vehicle was stolen from a gas station in Fergus, Ont. with the child inside.
Ontario Provincial Police officers responded to reports of a vehicle theft and possible abduction around 7 p.m. on Christmas Day.
Police say a woman left her vehicle running with the child inside as she went into a store. A man got inside the car and managed to flee the area despite witnesses’ attempts to stop him.
Officers later found the grey Chevrolet Impala abandoned on Highway 6 near Sideroad 19. The child was still in the vehicle and was unharmed.
The suspect is described as a white male with a medium build. He was wearing a black coat over a grey jacket, light coloured pants, black with white running shoes, and a grey “beanie” style Puma toque. He had his face covered with a wrap style scarf that possibly had a skull print on it.
Police are also looking for an accomplice who was driving a white passenger vehicle similar to a Kia Soul.
Anyone with information that could help police with this investigation is asked to contact the Wellington County OPP at 1-888-310-1122, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
