Tobin going to jail

The son of former Newfoundland and Labrador Premier Brian Tobin is going to jail.

Jack Tobin has been sentenced to three years in prison, and faces a seven year driving ban for his role in the drunk-driving death of a close friend.

He pled guilty to impaired driving causing the death of Alex Zolpis on Christmas Eve.

Zolpis was pinned under a pickup truck in a parking lot.

Earlier this month, Tobin made a tearful apology.
