Today, Tim Bosma’s widow, Sharlene, will announce the launch of a charity aimed at helping other families of innocent homicide victims.

“Tim’s Tribute” will work with Christian Stewardship Services to provide financial assistance and support for immediate crisis needs like burial costs as well trial related expenses.

CHCH spoke exclusively with Sharlene about why she felt the need to reach out to others in similar situations after she received support from the community.

“With the trust fund, I’ve been very blessed. And I’m also very aware that other people in that situation don’t end up having that generosity and this is sort of my opportunity to be able to use that for something better. And to be able to help people in that situation where you are left going ‘I don’t know how we’re going to do this’. And that’s one of the stages where we want to be able to help people is to get them through that initial help. You know, most people my age, we didn’t have plots or headstones or anything like that set up I want to be able to help people with that. ”
