TIFF: Madonna on movie making

Madonna spoke about her new film W.E. at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The flick is about Wallis Simpson, the American socialite who had a romance with King Edward VIII.

Madonna joked with reporters about how she and the cast passed the time while on set:

“When it was pouring down rain and you were shooting outside and you’re stuck inside some grey, dirty shack , waiting for the sun to come out, what can you do but make up a song?”

“What songs would you sing? Would you make up a song?”

“Well, let’s see, ‘we’re making a movie, isn’t it groovy, welcome to my house.'”

“That was one of them.”

Madonna said she did extensive research on Simpson and wanted to show that much of what is believed about the infamous divorcee is false.
