Ticats without Alex Green for season opener

Big number 15 will not be in the backfield when the Tiger-Cats play their season opening contest against the Calgary Stampeders, Saturday at McMahon Stadium. Alex Green injured his hand during the Ticats preseason game against the Alouettes and will be replaced by the Canadian duo of Mercer Timmis and Sean Thomas Erlington.
Green was a valuable offensive weapon during the Ticats second half last season, rushing for 447 yards and five touchdowns in just six games. Head Coach June Jones spoke about the injury.
So with Green out of the picture, international free agent running back John White was added to the practice roster while receiver Damarr Aultman was released.
White was released just prior to training camp but spent the past four seasons with the Edmonton Eskimos. The 26-year old was limited to only 2 games last year due to a serious nee injury but enjoyed success in 2014 when he was named a CFL and West Division All-Star. White will not play on Saturday but revealed his expected debut.
