Ticats trade Boudreaux

Brandon Boudreaux wasn’t playing in Hamilton. He should get the chance in Regina. The Tiger-Cats traded the defensive end, along with two draft picks, to the Roughriders in exchange for third-round draft picks in 2015 and 16, and a player from the Riders negotiation list.
The north-end uprights have been removed at Tim Horton’s Field, and stadium workers are busy sweeping-up in anticipation of the inaugural concert there this Saturday.
The Ticats also took care of some housekeeping on Wednesday sending Brandon Boudreaux to Saskatchewan for a pair of draft picks and a negotiation list player.
Boudreaux’s last sack was made in last year’s Grey Cup, and his last game this season was back on July 26th, but Kent Austin still considers him a valuable player.
Head Coach Kent Austin: “We loved having him on the team, it’s just a situation where we’re pleased with the play of other guys, we have some depth there and it helped us in the up-coming draft and in next year’s draft.”
With Boudreaux gone and Antonio Coleman injured, Justin Hickman will return to the Ticats’ lineup in Winnipeg — which is, coincidentally, the last city he played in before heading to the NFL in 2012.
Defensive lineman Justin Hickman: “These guys have been doing a good job the last 3-4 weeks. Playing good ball. I’m not gonna’ come in here and mess up the flow. I’ve never gone outside the scheme. I’m gonna’ come in, do my part and hopefully get some things done.”
Every two weeks — or less — this season, the defensive line has featured a different front four. But their coaches have been pleased with their recent progress.
Defensive Line coach Dennis McPhee: “Bryan Hall has done a great job in the absence of Brian Bulcke and Teddy doesn’t say a lot but he demands excellence and I think having some veteran leadership there has helped the younger guys come along.”
