Ticats return after exhibition victory

In exactly two weeks, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats will kick off the regular season in Toronto to take on the defending champs, the Argos.

Until then, a mere two pre-season games is all they get to get familiar to a plethora of new coaches as well as an entirely new team philosophy. So far so good. The Tiger-Cats returned to Hamilton Friday afternoon, after celebrating their first victory of 2013. Hopefully, setting the mood for a much more prosperous season than last year. Some of the youngest, most inexperienced cats bore their claws Thursday night in Montreal, and beat the Alouettes 33-26 in their first preseason game.

Rookie import Lindsay Lamar scored on an 88-yard punt return, while Chevon Walker turned a short pass from last year’s third-string quarterback Dan Lefevour into a 25-yard touchdown play. The Cats were still smiling when they returned to Hamilton. They were pleased that they made the most out of the opportunities they had, and knowing there’s more work to be done.
