Ticats-Redblacks preview

For the second time in the last 6 games, the Tiger-Cats will have a first time starter at quarterback when they meet the Redblacks in a first place showdown in Ottawa Saturday afternoon. Jacory Harris, in his 2nd season with the Cats, will make his first start.
The 25-year old, a former Miami Hurricane, will be in the eye of the storm. Harris played in two games this season, both in relief of Jeff Mathews who’s out this week with a concussion. Harris completed 4 of 5 passes for 60 yards in last weekend’s loss to the Redblacks.
Jeremiah Masoli will be the backup to Harris and could see some action. Both players split first team reps at practice this week. Masoli is in his third year with the Cats. He has spent the season relaying plays from the sidelines, and he hasn’t thrown a pass in game action. Newly acquired Mitchell Gale will also dress.
The odds are against the Cats in this rematch. Since 1996, Ticat quarterbacks making their first career start have a record of 2-10.
