Ticats headed to the Cup game

More jubilation and anticipation as the Hamilton Tiger-Cats have punched their ticket to this Sunday’s Grey Cup. It’ll be the first time the tabbies have been in the big game in 14 years, and all day Jason Portuondo has been getting reaction to the victory. Here’s his story.
Its been 14 long years since Hamilton fans have head those precious words. Sundays victory over Toronto has Ticat fever at an all-time high which means big business for merchandisers.
Greg Dunnett is the Director of Retail Operations: “Saturday was our busiest day of the year. We had to open early because it was just so busy. We were passing out by 2 o’clock today. Andy Fantuz, he’s been flying off the shelves along with Henry Burris.”
Some fans like the Box J Boys are going the extra mile. One-thousand, six-hundred and 30 of them to be exact, taking the ultimate road trip to Regina for Grey Cup 101.”
Marty Hanc is one of the Box J Boys: “The last time we went to Saskatchewan, to Regina and that was 2003. We had a record of 1-17. And we marched through those streets shouting ‘we beat Saskatchewan’ because that was the only team we beat. So we just can’t wait to get back there.”
Pigskin Pete: “Put a lot of work and a lot of effort over the last 10 years and that’s all you want to get to. And to finally be able to go. I’ve been to a lot of Grey Cups and there is really nothing better.”
Mike Milne is the General Manager of Buffalo Wild Wings: “It’s going to be game day atmosphere. We’ll have the sound on. We have all the big televisions. The game’s gonna be on every screen. We’re gonna have a crowd that’ll be like being at the game. We’re gonna have the food, the drinks.”
Tal Adler is the General Manager of the Anchor Bar: “It’s huge, not just the Anchor Bar. I feel the vibe all over the city. It’s time Hamilton takes it back. This is our year.”
