Ticats fan and Argos players clash following CFL Eastern Final game

Toronto police are investigating an altercation between a Hamilton Tiger-Cats fan and two Toronto Argonauts players following the Canadian Football League (CFL) Eastern Final game on Sunday.
Police say two men allegedly jumped a barricade at BMO Field in Toronto and were attempting to fight with players following the game.
Two videos of the interaction have been shared widely on social media.
In one of the videos, Toronto Argonauts player Chris Edwards can be seen throwing a punch at a Hamilton Tiger-Cats fan who appeared to be waving a scarf in Edward’s face just minutes after the Ticats beat the Argos in the semi-final matchup.
The fan appears to rush at Edwards but Toronto player Dejon Brissett quickly intervenes by pushing the fan back.
The fan can then be seen being pinned against the wall by a Toronto police officer and escorted away from the area.
The videos only show a portion of the interaction.
Toronto police Cst. Edward Parks says two men were charged with trespassing and removed from BMO Field and Exhibition Place.
Police say it is alleged that both men “were assaultive with staff and police.”
Parks says officers will review the videos and speak with witnesses to determine if additional charges will be laid.
He says at this time, no charges have been laid against any players and the investigation is ongoing.
The CFL says it will be conducting a “full and complete investigation” as part of a rigorous and thorough process it always follows when considering player or team discipline.
The league says the process, which often includes interviewing those involved, takes time and further details about the outcome of the investigation will not be released today.
The Toronto Argonauts issued the following statement in relation to the incident. “The Toronto Argonauts, in conjunction with MLSE security, the CFL league office and local police, are investigating a post-game incident involving team personnel and visiting fans. The club will issue a statement once the investigation is complete and any outcomes are determined,” said the organization.
