Ticat inspiration loses cancer fight

A tragic end to a story we brought you last week.

Jacob Rayner, the stoney creek boy who became an inspiration for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats has lost his battle with cancer.

The dedicated Ticat fan had become friends with members of the team, in particular Dave Stala, following a chance meeting at McMaster Children’s Hospital.

Jacob died this morning surrounded by family and friends. He was 17.
