Three-year-old girl struck by vehicle in an Oakville parking lot

Police are investigating after a young girl was struck by a vehicle in an Oakville parking lot.

Halton police officers were called to a plaza near Dundas St. and Neyagawa Blvd. around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.

They say a 38-year-old woman was driving an SUV in the parking lot, when a three-year-old girl ran out in front of the vehicle.

Initially it was believed the girl may have been suffering from serious injuries. She was taken to hospital, where her injuries were determined to be minor.

The collision reconstruction unit is investigating.
