Three tornadoes touch down in Southern Ontario

Tornadoes touched down as thunderstorms swept across Southern Ontario Wednesday night.

Environment Canada confirms three tornadoes touched down, bringing the Ontario total this year to 14.

The twisters touched down in Orillia, Carnarvon and Arthur-Grand Valley, while a waterspout formed over head lake.

The province normally averages around 12 tornadoes a year with extreme weather season usually taking place between late April and early October.
