Hamilton police say three men were seriously injured in a single vehicle collision in downtown Hamilton.

Police say on Friday, April 29, shortly before 11:00 p.m., a 21-year-old Hamilton man was driving a 2016 Volkswagen westbound on Hunter Street West towards the offset intersection at Queen Street South when he went through the intersection and struck a fence along with protective concrete blocks.

Paramedics transported the driver, along with two other passengers who are both 19-year-old Hamilton men, to hospital.

Police say it was determined at the hospital that all three men sustained critical injuries. These injuries include torso trauma and spinal fractures.

The collision also caused extensive damage to the vehicle and caused portions of the concrete blocks to fall onto the railway tracks below. Police say there were no other vehicles or pedestrians involved.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact them at 905-546-4755.
