On February 1, 2019 just after 7 p.m., OPP, paramedics and fire responded to a Hagersville address for reports of an unresponsive male. 32-year-old Jason Robert Kerr was transported to hospital where he later died.

Through investigation OPP arrested and charged three people in connection to his death on August 14.

29-year-old Hillary Robertson and 32-year-old Terry Wood both of Haldimand County have been charged with manslaughter, causing death by criminal negligence and trafficking Carfentanyl. 27-year old Jesse Wellings of Haldimand County was also charged with trafficking Carfentanyl.
