Trio sought for randomly spraying two people with ‘noxious substance’

Hamilton police are hoping to identify three people who randomly sprayed two separate victims with an “unknown substance” while walking in the city’s west end.
The first incident happened around 8:50 p.m. Sunday near Main St. West and Dalewood Ave.
Police say a man was walking by himself when two men got out of a silver vehicle and sprayed him in the face with a noxious substance.
Roughly forty minutes later, another man was walking near Main St. West and Cline Ave. South when a grey vehicle approached him. “The victim heard a noise and as he turned to look at the vehicle, he was sprayed with a noxious substance,” said Hamilton police in a news release.
Police say no words were exchanged between the victims and the suspects and nothing was stolen. Investigators believe the substance was bear spray.
They are searching for three white males in their mid-twenties, with skinny builds.
Police believe the suspects used a silver or grey, four-door Hyundai sedan during the incidents.
Anyone with information that could help police with the investigation is asked to contact Staff Sergeant at 905-546-3833.
