Three Hamilton men are facing charges following a two-week child exploitation investigation by Hamilton police.

The investigation dubbed ‘Project Frost Byte’ focused on individuals who use online file storage systems often referred to as “cloud storage” to commit child exploitation offences.

The Hamilton Police Service Internet Child Exploitation executed four search warrants in Hamilton between Feb. 26 and Mar. 9 and seized numerous electronic devices.

Liam Angus, 19, Richard Mackay, 46, and Joseph Locke, 46, have been arrested and face child pornography charges.

Police believe the men are not known to each other.

“The Hamilton Police Service will continue to aggressively pursue individuals who utilize technology to exploit children. Parents are reminded to take a proactive approach to help protect their children from online sexual exploitation by speaking with their children regarding internet safety,” said police in a news release.

Anyone who may have information about this investigation is asked to contact Hamilton police.
