Hamilton Police say someone from outside the country is responsible for the threats that caused widespread panic at Bishop Ryan Catholic School for two days. Frustrated and drained from the past 48 hours some parents allowed their kids to stay home today.

Hamilton Police have reported that the threat directed at students and staff was a hoax created by someone outside of the country in an attempt to cause panic.

Mission successful.

The anxiety didn’t end yesterday after the second-straight threat. When it was announced that regular classes would resume today, some students
showed their frustration by not showing up.

Many parents followed suit by letting their kids stay home.

The Catholic District School Board didn’t make any staff available for comment.

Parents say they’d also like to hear more from police about the international call that had them scrambling for two days.

Hamilton Police told CHCH that in order to protect the investigation and their methods they couldn’t inform the public on how they narrowed down their search for those responsible for the threats.
