Thousands expected to welcome Lancaster Bomber home

Thousands are expected to turn out for the Lancaster’s return to the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Hamilton Sunday afternoon.
“Vera” and her crew spent the last couple of months in England.
They took part in a special tour that included more than 20 airshows and 50 flypasts.
“Vera” also flew with the world’s only other flying Lancaster operated by the Royal Air Force’s Battle of Britain memorial flight.
CHCH’s own Bob Cowan even joined the crew for a memorable stretch of the trip.
The Lancaster is now back on Canadian soil. After a stop in Quebec she touched down in Ottawa Saturday night.
All of the festivities at the Museum start Sunday at 9 a.m.
Al Mickeloff with the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum joined CHCH News along with the Museum’s President and CEO Dave Rohrer who called in from Ottawa, as he is also one of the Lancaster’s pilots.
