Thorold man wanted on fraud charges

Niagara police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a Thorold man involved in multiple frauds.

Police say that in June 2019 the Central Fraud Unit of the Niagara Regional Police Service began to investigate several frauds in the Niagara region involving a man accepting construction jobs and taking money for services he did not provide.

The construction jobs he agreed to provide were home improvement projects on decks, additions and siding.

The total amount defrauded was in excess of $200,000.

Detectives identified at least 12 victims in their investigation.

39-year-old Brody J. Racine of Thorold is wanted in connection to these incidents on eight counts of fraud over $5,000, three counts of fraud under $5,000 and theft under $5,000.

He is described as a 6’1, 220lbs white man with short dark hair.

Police say Racine is aware he is wanted by Niagara police.

They say he is also wanted in Hamilton and Brantford and has ties to Thorold, Halton, London, Huntsville and Toronto.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact police immediately.
